The range of servers Power10 from IBMdesigned for infrastructures of hybrid cloud, has been updated with new models, designed to handle very intensive workloads, such as those typical of SAP HANA. New pay-as-you-go offers are also available, allowing companies to manage costs more effectively and scale according to their needs.
Power10 Midrange E1050 is a 4-socket server in 4U rack format, designed for intensive workloads, such as SAP HANA and Oracle Database. The memory can be expanded up to 16 TB. If the computing power isn’t enough, you can scale performance by running your workloads on IBM Cloud as well.
Other new additions to the range include IBM Power S1014, also in 4U format but with only one socket, and designed for workloads on IBM AIX or Linux, and ideal for AI inference, how IBM Power S1022 two-socket in 2U format, e IBM Power S1024.
Safety first
All new servers support advanced security features including Transparent Memory Encryption and advanced processor or system isolation. To ensure optimal performance, IBM has quadrupled the number of core-integrated AES encryption engines compared to IBM POWER9, making them ready for future cryptographic standards, such as quantum-safe encryption andhomomorphic encryption.
“The dynamism of today’s IT environments has created volatility for materials, people and skills – all of which impact a company’s short-term operations and long-term sustainability.“, commented Steve Sibley, Vice President, IBM Power Product Management. “Making the right IT investments is critical to business and operational resilience. Our new Power10 models offer a variety of flexible hybrid cloud choices with the agility and automation needed to best fit business needs, without sacrificing performance, security or resilience“.
“Organizations around the world are adapting to sudden changes in consumer behaviors and needs; for this reason, they need a platform that can deliver applications and insights securely, where and when they need them.“, he has declared Peter Rutten, Vice President of IDC Worldwide Infrastructure Research. “IBM Power addresses the need to respond faster to ever-changing business environments and demands, while protecting information security and gaining new insights from data, all with high reliability and availability“.
