NEW DELHI: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is celebrating its silver jubilee year with remarkable achievements in national and international academic rankings. Recently, the university secured an impressive A++ rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Now, it has made its debut in the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Rankings 2024.
The QS rankings have recognized the university as one of the top 1500 institutions worldwide. Along with the traditional indicators of academic reputation, employer reputation, and faculty-student ratio, this year’s rankings also incorporated three new indicators: sustainability, employment outcomes, and international research network.
Padma Shri Prof (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, expressed his delight at this remarkable achievement. He highlighted the fact that Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has entered the global QS rankings without previously appearing in the QS Asia rankings. Out of the 439 institutions from Asia and only 45 universities from India that made it to the top 1500 worldwide, the university’s inclusion is a significant accomplishment.
Prof Verma emphasized that the university has been tirelessly working on education, research, and capacity building by establishing international collaborations with academia and industry. These partnerships have played a vital role in enhancing the university’s academic performance. With over 5070 papers published and an impressive h-index of 73, the institution has demonstrated its commitment to promoting academic delivery, policy research, and social welfare.
Prof Verma commended the faculty and staff for their dedicated efforts in taking the university to new heights. As Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University continues to advance in the rankings, it remains focused on fostering humane education, research, and societal well-being.
