Is ‘The Lost King’ Streaming on HBO Max or Netflix?

There are not many sleeps left until The Lost King officially comes to theaters — and luckily, we have you covered with all the ways you can watch it.

Inspired by a true story, the new drama follows amateur historian Philippa Langley (Sally Hawkins), who believes she found the lost burial site of King Richard III.

The adventure progresses as Langley refuses to be ignored and instead takes on “Britain’s most eminent historians, forcing them to rethink the legacy of one of the most controversial kings in England’s history,” per the film’s logline.

WHERE TO WATCH THE LOST KING:

As of now, the only way to watch The Lost King is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, March 24. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, Apple and YouTube or become available to stream on AMC+. WHEN WILL THE LOST KING BE ON STREAMING?

Since IFC Films is owned by AMC Networks, it is likely The Lost King will eventually become available to stream on AMC+. While a release date has not yet been announced, we can make an estimate based on God’s Country, which was released in theaters on Sept. 16, 2022 and came to the streaming platform on Feb. 28, 2023. If The Lost King follows the same trajectory, it’s possible we won’t be able to watch it on AMC+ until late August or early September 2023.

WILL THE LOST KING BE ON HBO MAX?

No, The Lost King will not be on HBO Max because it is not a Warner Bros. movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer the same day. Now, they have a 45-day window between theatrical and streaming releases.

WILL THE LOST KING BE ON NETFLIX?

No, The Lost King will not be available to stream on Netflix — at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a theater or wait for it to become available on digital platforms or AMC+.
