At the beginning of August, the announcement of a partnership between Logitech GLogitech’s gaming division, and Tencent Games which concerned the arrival on the market of a device portable focused on cloud gaming. Almost a month later, the first photos of the product in question appear online, photos which, however, have not been published by either reality.
It is in fact the usual Evan Blass (@evleaks) to publish online images of what will be called Logitech G Gaminga real handheld console based on Android. That the green robot has on board can be understood from the presence of Google Play, the virtual store where you can buy apps and games dedicated to Android.
The reason for this choice is obvious, given the presence on board of the Tencent Games project. The Chinese publisher in fact has a lot of games for mobile devices, including the very recent one Tower of Fantasy.
Google Play and Cloud Gaming
But Logitech G Gaming doesn’t just have Google Play on board. If the Android store itself would have a lot of titles to entertain itself with, the focus of the console is also cloud gaming. From what has been leaked, and from what is also visible in one of the images published in advance, we will also find on board the app of Xboxprobably for access to Game Pass via the cloud, GeForce NOW from NVIDIAand also Steam. There are also other apps like Chrome And YouTube, probably to make it a 360 ° entertainment machine. The presence of Chrome is more important than you think, given that some streaming services, such as GeForce NOW, are also easily accessible from a browser.
Hardware and other details
Logitech G Gaming seems to look more like Nintendo Switch Lite than to the version with the removable pads of the Nintendo console. A unique structure therefore, equipped with two analog sticks in asymmetrical position, directional cross and all the other buttons of the case, including the 4 back buttons. From one of the images there also appears to be a counter that could allow a possible memory expansion.
Currently unknown le console technical specifications. Being based on Android and also needing sufficiently advanced hardware to play some of Tencent’s mobile games, it is very likely that we will find a Snapdragon SoC (8 Jan 1 or 8+?) E at least 8 GB of RAM. Alternatively, there could also be the Snapdragon G3x SoC dedicated to gaming that we had seen on board the Razer console. The screen, according to the images, could be between 6 and 7 inches.
Output and price
These two details are also unknown. It is possible that Logitech takes advantage of the IFA in Berlin (opening September 2) to announce the arrival of the console. It is difficult to predict the price, but being a console, arriving on the market with prices too higher than those of the Nintendo Switch may not help its spread.
