KOCHI: Arya RS from Thamarasserry in Kozhikode emerged the state topper as the National Testing Agency on Tuesday declared the results of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test- Undergraduate (NEET-UG) for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions in India.
Arya secured 711 marks and 99.9987246 percentile score to secure the 23rd rank nationally. She is the only candidate from Kerala in the top 50 list. She secured third position among the top 20 female candidates nationally.
Arya is the youngest daughter of Ramesh Babu TK, a police sub-inspector, and Shaima K, a homemaker. Archana RS, who is an MA English student, is Arya’s sister.
Arya completed Class 12 from Alphonsa Senior Secondary School, Thamarassery in 2022.
“Though I attempted the exam in 2022, my rank was above 53000. So I joined the online batch at Brilliant Study Centre, Pala and underwent coaching. I performed well and expected a good score but never thought I would be state topper. I hope to get admission in AIIMS Delhi,” Arya said.
As many as 137396 candidates from Kerala registered for the exams held on May 7. Out of the 133450 candidates appeared, only 75362 have qualified.
