The Director of School Education, Telangana, on Wednesday clarified that the Dussehra holidays which were announced earlier for all primary, upper primary, and high schools will remain same and it will be in effect without any change.
A circular from M Radha Reddy, director of Telangana State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) was released on Tuesday proposing to the School Education Department to reduce the number of the holidays given for Dussehra from 14 to 9 days to compensate the loss of working days due to the heavy rains in the month of July and the National Integration Day celebrations on September 17, 2022.

However, A Sri Devasena, the director of School Education, released a statement on Wednesday that reads, “It is hereby informed that there is no further change in the already announced dates of Dussehra holidays as per the academic calendar for the academic year 2022-23, i.e.; from 26.09-2022 to 09.10.2022.”
The circular issued by the director of SCERT on September 20, 2022 to the director of School Education, referred to the Telangana school holidays announced by the state government between July 11 and July 16 on account of heavy rains across the state and celebrations on September 17. “As per the academic calendar for the year, there was a loss of up to 7 days of academic instructions,” it said.
