The Californian company Paired Power has launched a charging station for electric cars that it uses only the sun as a source of energy to fill up in a clean way and without being connected to the electricity grid. PairTree looks like one column with photovoltaic cover and a large storage battery to deliver the charge to the patrons. One of the strengths of this off-grid solution is in its simplicity of installation as it requires two people to just four hours so as to be operational from day one. It will debut in 2023 starting from the USA, but there are several projects that should follow this path.

And while in Italy it is still difficult to find fast charging stations on the motorway, especially in the southernmost regions, all over the world we are continuing to build and set up an infrastructure capable of supporting an increasingly growing number of users. . Above all, however, we try to guarantee a truly green recharge, using guaranteed renewable energy sources: PairTree is not even connected to the mains, but it rests solely on the grid of panels mounted on the cover to dispense the refill. Specifically, he proposes 5 kW units using 10 double sided solar panels that is able to generate energy from both sides of the cell, so as to exploit also the reflective surfaces on the ground or nearby.

The panels are double-sided to also use reflected light

PairTree is a level 2 charging station that can mount 40 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate batteries for the accumulation while for the payment of the charge it uses the proprietary application that also provides online support in case of assistance. According to the manufacturer, it can be ideal not only for rural areas, but also as temporary structures in the event of events or as alternative solutions in the event that there are limitations on the installation of traditional columns.
