Google’s Pixel 6a is definitely a good phone, especially considering the quality / price ratio. However, it would appear that his successor will raise the bar even further. In fact, the Pixel 7a – whose code name is “Iynx” – according to Kuba Wojciechowski it will have a display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, support for wireless charging and an unprecedented rear camera.

Specifically, digging into the camera drivers, Wojciechowski found that “lynx” was actually connected to a mid-range phone with the camera setup called “Pixel 22 Mid-range”. Incidentally, after the driver was enriched, the code “revealed” only two cameras: “l10_wide” (IMX787) and “l10_UW” (IMX712). In this regard, we remind you that the Pixel 6a uses the Sony IMX363 sensor while, according to this information, the successor model would adopt the Sony IMX787 sensorwhich could be a big improvement.

Furthermore, as already mentioned above, the phone could support wireless charging as well.

About, it would appear that the charging speed will be limited to just 5 Watts. In short, not “exceptional numbers”, even if in any case it is a feature never seen in the past on the models of this Pixel series. In the end, Wojciechowski also stated that the Pixel 7a will use a 90Hz 1080p panel from Samsung. Obviously these are rumors which, however, if confirmed it would mean that Google is ready to launch a really interesting mid-range smartphone.
