Without much fanfare, Qualcomm announced its new chip which will replace it Snapdragon 778G Plus: let’s talk about the mobile platform Snapdragon 782G. The all-new chip introduces CPU improvements, boosting performance from 2.5GHz to 2.7GHz over its predecessor. However, the news does not stop at a 5% improvement in CPU performance: Qualcomm, in fact, has stated that the GPU will be 10% faster than that of the Snapdragon 778G Plus.

Otherwise, no big news. The new Snapdragon 782 G, in fact, shares much of the same structure as its predecessor. In fact, it is a 6 nm chip with a Kryo 670 processor and the Adreno 642L (just like the 778G Plus). In any case, the company has highlighted the strengths of the new product, such as amplified performance, improved artificial intelligence, simultaneous capture from three cameras with up to two gigapixels per second processing and seamless connectivity support for mmWave and Sub-6GHz frequencies.

Also, Qualcomm mentioned other features that might be particularly interesting, including the ability to capture HDR10+ video, Bluetooth 5.2 audio, and burst capture at 120 FPS. As for the smartphone on which this chip will debut, still no news.

However, there is speculation that the unreleased Snapdragon could equip the new one Honor 80 (which should be presented today, November 23).

Finally, last week, Qualcomm finally presented its brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 premium processor, which stands out for many innovative specifications, such as WiFi 7 and a really important increase in power.
