NEW DELHI: All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been promoted to A+ category after his recent exploits against Australia in the Test series as BCCI announced the annual player contracts for Team India for the 2022-23 season.
India skipper Rohit Sharma, former captain Virat Kohli will continue to remain in the top category that will see players take home a whopping Rs 7 crore. India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who has been injured since July 2022, managed to retain his place in the A+ category.
All-rounders Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, pacer Mohammed Shami, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Axar Patel feature in Grade A category (Rs 5 crore).
After failing to regain his touch in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, KL Rahul has been demoted to Grade B while out of the national team since the start of 2023, Shikhar Dhawan has been demoted to Grade C.
Ajinkya Rahane, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharm, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha and Deepak Chahar have been removed from the annual contracts.
An A+ contract is worth Rs 7 crore, A is Rs 5 crore, B is Rs 3 crore, and C is Rs 1 crore.
