In recent years we have seen Samsung put a lot of effort into its software support smartphones, not only with regard to its top of the range. Despite this, there are some aspects that they escape under the control of Samsung itself.

We are talking about the Play System updatesor those software updates that are released and distributed directly by Google, even for non-Pixel smartphonesand which concern the Play Store and all Google services connected to smartphone apps (such as Google Pay for example).

It seems that in recent months there has arisen a problem between Galaxy models from Samsung and Play System updates. Currently, in fact, the version of the Play System is stop when updating July 2022when instead for the Pixels we have arrived at the updated version a November 2022.

The screenshots that you find at the end of this article come from Galaxy S22 and show how the system informs the user about it to obsolescence of the Play System version, recommending to update as soon as possible.

However such an update does not appear to be available. For other users with Galaxy S22, however, the Play System version is available after download it stays still in July 2022.

At the moment it is not clear if it’s a software problem it has to be fixed by Samsungsince the bug seems to occur only on models of the South Korean company, or if Google needs to fix releasing a new version of the Play System. Let us know if you too have encountered the same problem.
