It’s (almost) time to play ball.

With pitchers and catchers reporting earlier this week, teams have just a few days of workouts together before the start of Grapefruit and Cactus League games in 2023.

The action kicks off Thursday when the Seattle Mariners play the San Diego Padres at their shared facility in Peoria, Arizona. The Texas Rangers and Kansas City Chiefs also play Thursday at their shared facility in Surprise, Arizona. Both games begin at 3 p.m. ET.

The other 26 clubs begin their spring training schedule Friday, kicking off their respective preseason slates.

World Baseball Classic: When does 2023 WBC start?

A number of players will take a hiatus from spring training to join their countries for the 2023 World Baseball Classic, an international tournament where players from a wide range of cultures and playing levels compete against one another.

The first games get underway March 27 and will continue for the championship game scheduled March 21.

When is 2023 MLB Opening Day?

All 30 teams are scheduled to play their respective first regular-season games March 30, marking the first time since 1968 that all MLB teams have been scheduled to begin the season on the same day.
