Singer KK passes away: Family reaches CMRI hospital where autopsy will be done today | Hindi Movie News

KK’s untimely demise has left the nation in shock. The popular singer was performing in Kolkata, post which he passed away due to a fatal heart attack on Tuesday night. His family arrived in the city on Wednesday morning. After complaining of uneasiness post the performance at Kolkata’s Nazrul Mancha auditorium, the singer collapsed at the hotel and also suffered injuries on his face. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The 53 year old singer is survived by his by wife Jyothy Krishna and their two children, son Nakul Krishna Kunnath and daughter Tamara Kunnath. They were spotted at the CMRI hospital in Kolkata where the singer’s mortal remains are kept. The singer’s postmortem is likely to take place, post which his family will reportedly take his mortal remains back to Mumbai.

A case of unnatural death has been registered post the singer’s death. A police official told PTI, “We have started an investigation into singer KK’s death and a case of unnatural death has been registered with the New Market Police Station. We are talking to the hotel authorities and scrutinising CCTV footage to understand what had happened before he was taken to the hospital.”

Remembering the late singer, Emraan Hashmi had tweeted, “A voice and talent like no other.. They don’t make them like him anymore. Working on the songs he sang was always that much more special. You will always be in our hearts KK and live eternally through your songs. RIP Legend KK #ripkk.”
