The Anthrax Attacks: The Anthrax Killer Investigation (in original The Anthrax Attacks: In the Shadow of 9/11) is the new documentary from September 8 on Netflix. The streaming platform that made docu one of its strengths evokes a period that for most of us – especially those who traveled often and were therefore frequently struggling with airport controls – agonizing that still constitutes a fresh memory. : that of attacks on anthrax. The documentary was introduced a few hours ago with a trailer that illustrates its themes and structures: on the one hand the purely documentary reconstruction of the facts and investigations, on the other the scripted staging with the Clark Gregg of Marvel’s Agents of Shield, protagonist of the fictional part. The story of the 2001 notorious anthrax attacks is produced by BBC Studios Production, and directed by Oscar-nominated director Dan Krauss (Extremis, The Kill Team).

The Anthrax Attacks tells the story of one of the largest and most complex FBI investigations in law enforcement history. Five people were killed and at least seventeen fell ill in one of the worst biological attacks in US history, a week after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on Twin towers. The film, which takes place across America and beyond, touches on topics such as deadly poisons, scientific research, all told against the backdrop of the war on terror. Using the email-based information exchanged during investigations and notes kept by the FBI, the documentary also shares the heartbreaking and heartbreaking stories of detectives and survivors and families of those who have been infected.
