The Last of Us, the series will arrive in January on sky

After a long wait, finally The Last of Us has a departure date: the series based on the video game of the same name developed by Naughty Dog for PlayStation will debut on Hbo next January 15, 2023, to then arrive simultaneously and exclusively for Italy on Sky and Now on January 16th. Written by Craig Mazin (acclaimed creator of Chernobyl) And Neil Druckmannwho previously worked on the original video game, the nine episodes are set 20 years after the destruction of civilization as we know it: a Joela survivor traumatized by the death of his daughter Sarah who struggles as a smuggler, is entrusted with the mission of rescuing Ellie, a fourteen year old who seems to have the solution to save humanity; the task of traversing what remains of the United States with her will be far more complex and treacherous than the two can imagine.

To play the main characters there will be Pedro Pascalnow famous for his roles in game of Thrones and especially The MandalorianAnd Beautiful Ramseyalso jumped to great notoriety thanks to the role of Lyanna Mormont in game of Thrones. Next to them there will be a very large cast: Gabriel Luna (Agents of Shield, Terminator: Dark Fate) will be Tommy, brother of Joel; Anna Torv (Mindhunter) will play Tess, another surviving friend of Joel’s while Nico Parker he will give Sarah’s face; Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) And Murray Bartlett (Looking, The White Lotus) will instead be Bill and Frank, a troubled couple who will come into contact with these characters.

To underline the announcement of the date for The Last of Us arrived a teaser poster which fully represents theapocalyptic atmosphere of the serieswhich promises to be quite faithful to the videogame: against the backdrop of a devastated metropolis, where you can see abandoned military and civilian vehicles, you can see in the distance the figures of Joel and Ellie moving away towards the horizon.
