Theranos, the sentence on the founder Elizabeth Holmes is awaited

In a note the defence stated that the appropriate sentence for his client would be a sentence of 18 months of house arrestplus community service. They called Holmes a well-meaning businesswomanconvinced that it can achieve the goals that Theranos had set.

Elizabeth Holmes was 19 when, in 2003, she decided to leave the university to found his own agency and build the machine that can perform over a hundred clinical tests with a single drop of blood. An idea that, added to the charisma of the woman and her imageblack turtleneck and deep voice, whose inspiration and model was Steve Jobs, had over time convinced high-profile investors, including Rupert Murdoch and Herny Kissinger.

Over time, however, the promises of Theranos have proved themselves impossible to maintain. Strengthened by a manic obsession with confidentiality, Holmes was nevertheless able to send blood samples taken in department stores to ordinary laboratories. Sometimes, it specifies the Ft, too giving incorrect results.

The turning point came in 2015, when an investigation by the journalist of the Wall Street Journal John Carreyrou, Bad Blood, uncover the case and become a bestseller. It is no coincidence, however, that the newspaper is owned by Rupert Murdoch, as well as its own journalist grant carte blanche.

So November 18 is a field date for Holmes’s future. Her ex-boyfriend and chief operating officer of Theranos Ramesh Balwaniconvicted of fraud on twelve counts, is expected to know his fate in early December.
