India’s daily COVID infections witnessed a 90 percent jump on April 18, 2022 with 2,183 fresh COVID-19 cases, 1,985 recoveries and 214 deaths being reported in the last 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 11,542.

PM Modi is expected to lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects in the state during his visit. The visit comes ahead of British PM Boris Johnson’s visit, which is expected to take place on April 22nd.

The strike was not called off even after the Delhi government set up a committee to review auto and taxi fares.
