October 31 will be a very special day for space launch enthusiasts. In fact, on the same day, two heavy carriers (with different purposes) will be launched which will carry particularly voluminous payloads into orbit. It is a Falcon Heavy from SpaceX it’s a Long March 5B of the CNSA.

Probably the most spectacular will be that of SpaceX thanks also to the first two external states that will land simultaneously on the mainland (and also because it is a carrier that is used little compared to the Falcon 9). Even the Long March 5B of the CNSA for an interesting vector to observe, especially as regards the return of the main stage which it has already done in the past “to fear” for the consequences of an impact in inhabited areas (although in previous missions no injuries or deaths were reported, but some damage s). At the base of a Falcon Heavy we find 27 Merlin engines (being three Falcon 9 united) thus approaching the number of 33 engines present at the base of Super Heavy, even if the latter still has higher performance for each engine thanks to the use of Raptor 2. The height of this rocket equal to 70 meters while the width reaches 12.2 meters. In low earth orbit capable of carrying a 63.8 ton payload.
As for the Long March 5B of the CNSA, it is the launch of the Mengtian laboratory module that will serve to complete the structure of the Chinese space station thus joining Wentian and Tianhe. The astronauts will thus have more space to sleep and perform activities and allowing to reach a total crew of six taikonauts present at the same time against the current three.
The launch of the Long March 5B scheduled for October 31 at 5:35 am (Italian time). The rocket has already been moved from the assembly area to the launch area in the Wenchang spaceport. Now all that remains is the final checks and final operations before departure. According to as reported officially the preliminary operations would seem to have been carried out correctly and therefore there should be no delays in programming.
