The Volkswagen Group announced that it has delivered to customers 366,400 electric cars in the first 9 months of 2022. This is an increase of 25% compared to the same period of 2021. Furthermore, the share of 100% electric vehicles on the total deliveries was 6%. In 2021 it was 4.2%. To allow this result, above all the good performance of Chinese market where 112,700 BEVs were delivered, more than double compared to the first three quarters of 2021.

China is the second largest market for the Volkswagen Group in terms of electric car sales after Europe (211,900 BEV vehicles in the first 9 months of 2022). The United States contributed 8% of the Group’s total BEV deliveries, which corresponds to 28,900 vehicles.

Between January and September, the Volkswagen brand delivered 207,200 100% electric vehicles to its customers (57% of the Group’s total BEVs), followed by Audi with 77,000 vehicles (21%), Skoda with 36,900 vehicles (10%), Porsche with 25,100 vehicles (7%) and Seat / Cupra with 17,600 vehicles (5%).

The German group also added that orders for the 100% electric models are doing well in Western Europe. In fact, the order book exceeds 350,000 units.

So, in these first 9 months of 2022, which were the Volkswagen Group’s best-selling 100% electric models? In first place in this ranking we find the Volkswagen ID.4 / ID.5 followed by the Volkswagen ID.3 and the Skoda Enyaq iV (coupé version included).
