When Does House of the Dragon Episode 9 Come Out On HBO?

House of the Dragon episode 9, “The Green Council,” releases on Sunday, October 16 at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. EST on HBO and HBO Max. This was the same primetime release slot that Game of Thrones‘ eight seasons held on HBO during its original run. In the UK, House of the Dragon‘s season 1 episodes are released on Mondays at 2 a.m. through Sky Atlantic and NOW.

How Many Episodes Of House of the Dragon Are There?

Much like its predecessor, House of the Dragon season 1 has a total of 10 episodes, with the episode runtimes averaging about one hour each. House of the Dragon episode 8 is tied for the prequel’s longest entry yet, clocking in at 67 minutes. Game of Thrones seasons 1 through 6 each boasted 10 episodes, but season 7 had only seven episodes, while season 8 featured a total of six episodes with longer runtimes. If repeating the formula of Game of Thrones’ early seasons, the show is set to provide a heady climax and ample twists in the next installment: House of the Dragon season 1, episode 9, “The Green Council.”

House of the Dragon season 1’s remaining episodes will be released weekly on HBO and HBO Max. House of the Dragon season 1, episode 8 marks the series’ last major time jump, which moved the plot up by about six years. House of the Dragon’s season 1 finale is thus nearing its arrival, which is set to release on Sunday, October 23 at 9 p.m. ET. HBO has already officially renewed House of the Dragon for a second season, with the Dance of the Dragons storyline expected to consist of around four seasons.
