Finding Destiny 2’s Vex Strike Force public event can be tricky if players do not know where to look. The new public event was one of Lightfall’s many additions – the expansion, of course, was released in February, initiating Year 6 for Bungie’s popular online space shooter and bringing in a load of new content for players to explore.
One of the most significant additions was the Neomuna destination, where the Lightfall campaign occurs. It just so happens that this region has an exclusive public event. Destiny 2’s Vex Strike Force can only be found on Neptune, and it is enticing for players not only due to the novelty factor but the rewards they can reap if they can complete it.
How To Start Destiny 2’s Vex Strike Force
The Vex Strike Force happens exclusively on Neomuna, and its location varies. This is because it occurs only in the Vex Incursion Zone, which changes every week. As such, the place Vex Strike Force spawns changes every week. This is a rare public event, and there is no specific way of triggering it rather than waiting. According to The Loadout’s calculations, this public event’s respawn time cooldown is between three and four hours. On the other hand, regular public events respawn every thirty minutes or so.
As pointed out by Sly Nation on YouTube, the Vex Strike Force is shown in the map directory as any other public event, with the blue and orange icon and the title saying “Vex Strike Force Incoming!”. When players are in the zone where the public event is to take place, the event’s name is Supernumerary Blitz, and the objective is to eliminate six powerful Vex Minotaurs, called Minotaurs Supernumeros, within the 10-minute limit. Unfortunately, there is no way of making the public event Heroic in Destiny 2, so players should focus on eliminating the targets, as it is a very challenging accomplishment on its own.
You should bring a Fireteam to the Destiny 2 Vex Strike Force public event. Of course, as this is a public event, you may count on the help of other Guardians in the same region. This is a challenging event, and it is unlikely that you will complete it solo.
Why You Should Always Do Destiny 2’s Vex Strike Force
Destiny 2’s Vex Strike Force public event is so rare because if players can defeat all six Minotaurs Supernumeros within the limit, they are all rewarded with a guaranteed Exotic drop. The dropped piece is randomized, but Exotics are fairly rare to stumble upon, even while playing Destiny 2’s Legend and Master Lost Sectors, which may be excruciatingly difficult to complete solo, do not have a guaranteed Exotic drop rate.
If players cannot kill all six Minotaurs Supernumeros within the time limit, the Exotic equipment does not have a guaranteed drop rate in Destiny 2’s Vex Strike Force.
Despite the immense difficulty presented by Destiny 2’s Vex Strike Force, the event should be completed as often as possible. While it is unreasonable that players stay logged in simply waiting for the event, they should check Neomuna’s map every so often to see if the event is up or in preparation. Additionally, the Exotic armor piece may be quite useful, if not for the piece and stats it offers, perhaps for its higher Power Level, which can be utilized when infusing armor in Destiny 2.
