Xiaomi is one of the main players in the tech market, and this is not just about the smartphone industry but also what concerns the smart TVs. The Chinese company has been offering its solutions for Android TV for years.

In the last few hours Xiaomi has extended the list of compatible dongles with Android TV, launching the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K. This is the template for the 2023renovated minimally compared to what we saw last year.

The main novelty compared to the predecessor we see in the remote control: this no longer accommodates two but four buttons dedicated to quick access to apps. In fact, we find the buttons for quick access to services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + and a generic one to access all the apps.

At the level of hardware we do not find news: under the hood we find the usual processor Amlogic S905Y4 with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

The operating system consists of Android TV OS 11 with support for Dolby Vision HDR, Dolby Atmos.

Really curious that’s what this device looks like still based on Android TV and not on Google TV. Google’s new software interface for smart TVs has been around for a year now. It could also be that this Indian market version will come with Google TV should it launch in Europe.

We currently know that the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K arrives in Indian market at the equivalent price of around 55€, in line with previous models. We’ll see if a new version for 2023 is also expected in our area.
