Mangal Singh Mandarwal, deputy registrar of Doon University, says that for admission in Doon University, entrance exam has to be given. Registration for the entrance is starting from today i.e. May 11. The entrance test is to be held on June 16.

The university offers undergraduate (under graduate) and masters (post graduate) courses in eight fields. These are – School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR), School of Social Sciences, School of Media & Communication Studies, School of Languages, School of Management, School of Technology, School of Design, School of Physical Sciences.

This registration can be done by visiting Doon University website https://www.doonuniversity.org/en/home. Interested students can apply for any of these subjects according to their subjects and their choice. For this, it is necessary for the student to get 50% marks.

Mandrawal says that the university does not care whether you have 51% marks or 81%. All the students above 50% have to give the same exam. The university sees how you perform in the entrance test.

The admission process has also started in Petroleum University, another very prestigious university located in the capital Dehradun itself. The special thing about its university is that it does not conduct general graduate or post graduate courses, specialized courses are conducted here. According to the university’s website, it is the only university in the country that offers more than 110 specialized graduate, postgraduate courses.

The first date to apply for admission in B.Tech and LLB in Petroleum University has passed on Friday, although Dr. Arun Dhand, Senior Director and PRO in the University, says that if the seats are not filled, then the admission process is started. The process of admission in Petroleum University is somewhat different from the rest. For this, there should be at least 60% marks in 10th and 12th. Also, there must be 60% marks in 12th Physics, Chemistry, Maths also.

The rest 20% are filled by non-exams i.e. merit. Its condition is that in this, the student should have at least 80% marks in 10th and 12th. Also, there should be more than 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Maths of 12th. All such children are selected on the basis of merit.

There is no entrance exam in MTech, but there is a direct interview based on the performance of 10th, 12th and B.Tech. Interview facility is provided not only in Dehradun but also in many other cities.

Similarly, there is no entrance in management courses also. For BBA, you should have at least 50% marks in 10th and 12th. There is an interview and group discussion for all the applicants. On the basis of that merit is made. The exam for MBA is conducted at All India level. Apart from this, they also take admission through CAT and MAT.
