The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) will start the application process for admission to its Bachelor of Technology course from May 22. Candidates seeking admission to this institute, famous for the study of space science and technology, can apply for admission by July 7. This institute offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) courses in three disciplines. The last date for online application is 5th June.

B.Tech (5 years dual degree), Seat: 20

Eligibility

Must have passed 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized school education board with minimum 75% marks and science subjects.

The average of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths should be minimum 75 percent. This average is minimum 65 per cent for SC, ST and physically challenged applicants.

The student should be successful in JEE Main-2019 and should be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) to be conducted by IITs.

How many marks should be scored in JEE (Advanced)

General Category: An average of 20 percent in Physics, Chemistry and Maths and a minimum of 5 percent marks in each subject separately.

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Must have at least 18 percent average marks in all three subjects (PCM) and minimum 4.5 percent marks in each subject (separately).

SC, ST and Physically Handicapped: Minimum 10 percent average marks in all three subjects (PCM) and 2.5 percent marks in each subject separately.

Age Range: General and OBC category applicants should be born on or after 01 October 1994. Similarly SC, ST and physically challenged applicants should be born on or after 01 October 1989.

Selection Process

IIST will also release the rank list for admission on the basis of the All India Rank List to be released for JEE (Main). In the rank list, 60% weightage will be given to JEE (Main) marks and 40 percent weightage to class XII marks.
