Usman Umar from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise is getting mocked on social media for featuring in a web series called Yahoo Boy. The Nigerian reality star is famous for his chaotic relationships on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days with two American women, Lisa Hamme and Kimberly Menzies. Since both women are American citizens and at least 20 years older than Usman, it is believed that the Nigerian musician is pulling off a romance scam to make it to the United States.
Even after being labeled as a scammer, 90 Day Fiancé’s Usman Umar has decided to appear in a series, Yahoo Boy, which is a term used to describe a Nigerian man who carries out an internet scam, especially in foreign countries. Unintentionally, the 90 Day Fiancé star has given his critics, who already call him a con artist, another chance to mock him. A Redditor ShelterConscious4124 posted a poster for the series with the title, “Google what a Yahoo Boy is if you don’t know – what a hilarious role for Usman.”
Many Redditors were hysterical to find out that the 90 Day Fiancé franchise star will feature in Yahoo Boy after consistently claiming that he isn’t a scammer.
90 Day Fiancé Fans Spot Mistakes
After learning about Usman’s actorial debut and seeing the series poster, a Redditor commented, “‘An Soja boy web series’? I know that scammers usually use bad grammar to weed out the easily scammable, but.” Another Redditor jokingly pointed out that one of the writers of the series is called “MUSTY FASHION.” Someone else asked a genuine question, “Is the trailer out or coming soon? It says both lol.” It seems that Usman and his production team not only made a few grammatical mistakes but a factual error while designing the poster. The trailer of Yahoo Boy has already been released on Usman‘s YouTube channel, and the 13 episodes of this series will be out soon.
Although the trailer isn’t really attention-grabbing, it is interesting that while Usman has been roasted in the past fans in the thread still “can’t wait to watch” him in Yahoo Boy. Even though the Nigerian reality star isn’t one of the most liked cast members of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, his work is getting attention, at least on Reddit. However, viewers may be just waiting to cringe at Yahoo Boy‘s storyline and find out if Usman is actually playing a role of a Nigerian scammer in the series.
The most interesting thing about the trailer on YouTube is that it hasn’t received many views or comments from fans. Since Usman claims to be a well-known musician in Sokoto, Nigeria, it is surprising that he has just managed to get 1.3K views on the video in two days, and a handful of comments. Either Usman isn’t a popular personality in Nigeria, or his fans aren’t looking forward to seeing his acting debut. Nevertheless, fans can hope that the 90 Day Fiancé franchise alum will succeed as an actor.
