Adam Sandler is still recovering from an injury he received on the set of Hustle, more than a year after it occurred. The actor spoke with ET at the premiere of his new film and discussed the experience of filming alongside so many NBA superstars.

“I played with everybody, all the guys, and it’s humiliating, you know? You take a shot in front of them you see how flat your shot is you see how dumb you look you have no form. Then. When they shoot. You’re like ‘yeah, yeah, alright, that’s how you’re supposed to play.”

Unfortunately, his time playing with some NBA big shots didn’t last long. During filming, Sandler received an injury that took him out of the pick-up games for the remainder of filming.

“We had some of that going, but that’s before I popped my groin. There was one night my groin couldn’t take it anymore, then I said ‘I guess I’m gonna have to watch these guys go.'”

Sandler has been recovering for over a year but claims he still has a limp when he walks around. Hustle is scheduled to release in select theaters on June 3rd and on Netflix on June 8th.

NBA Stars Headed to the Big Screen in Hustle

Like last year’s Space Jam: A New Legacy, Hustle will bring several big-time NBA players to the silver screen. Joining Sandler is Boban Marjanovic, a center for the Dallas Mavericks, who appeared in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Additionally, Aaron Gordon, Seth Curry, Trae Young, Anthony Edwards, and Tobias Harris took time away from their professional careers to appear in the film. Ben Foster, Robert Duvall, and Queen Latifah round out the rest of the leads in the movie. The official synopsis for the film reads:

After being fired, pro basketball scout, Stanley Beren, is excited, for the first time in a very long while, when he serendipitously discovers Spanish amateur baller, Bo Cruz, playing in a park outside Madrid. Fueled with new-found purpose, Stanley makes it his mission to groom Bo for the NBA as he believes they both can make it.
