BTS recently shared their 9
th anniversary celebration in the form of Festa Dinner Party and it truly was a ‘bittersweet’ moment for the band and millions of their fans worldwide.

In the evening of June 14
th, BTS shared their annual celebration video titled Festa Dinner Party 2022. The hour-long video was released through the Bangtan TV channel on OTT, wherein the BTS members were seen having a group dinner in their dormitory as they shared their nostalgic moments, current lives, hopes and fears and their future plans on the occasion of their 9
th anniversary.

The video started on a cheerful note as the members congratulated one another on completion of 9 years together as a team, ate and drank together catching up with one another. Gradually, they started putting their thoughts out while trying to balance their as well as their audience’s emotions.

They started off by mentioning that despite having moved out of the dormitory lifestyle, they were celebrating the dinner party there as their contract with the dorm had come to an end. BTS then went on to share memorable incidents from when they used to live together under a single roof.

The septet further explained why they released an ‘anthology’ album in their 9th year. This was when things started getting serious.

BTS revealed that their ‘phase 1’ was supposed to come to an end post the release of their early 2020 hit ‘Map Of The Soul: 7’, followed by an extensively planned world tour including countries where they had never been before like Australia, India and Barcelona. However, Covid happened and all their plans had to be postponed leaving the members devastated. They still decided to work together and get through, which led to the release of hits like Dynamite, Butter, Life Goes On and Permission to Dance. All this while, they felt like ‘painfully squeezing themselves out to satisfy the audience’ as group member SUGA said.

Eventually, BTS announced taking a ‘partial break’ from group activities and pursuing solo projects in the near future. This announcement made in Korean got translated into ‘BTS going on indefinite hiatus’ and created a stir across the globe.

They detailed this saying that each one of them possesses an entirely different personality, but they had come together in 2013 because they had stories to tell to the audience through their love for music and were fortunate enough to have fans who took them to great heights.

Group leader RM mentioned that the problem with K-Pop and ‘Idol Culture’ is, “They don’t give you time to mature.” He went on and expressed his emotions briefly detailing his hardships as the leader of the world’s biggest boyband. One by one, each member opened up with their thoughts and struggles, establishing that they eventually started feeling ‘exhausted’ having no time to even think of what to do next, hence decided to take a break.

Furthermore, BTS expressed their frustration for restriction on keeping transparency between them and their fans, while RM felt guilty of taking a break, fearing disappointing fans who got them all the way up.

Meanwhile, member V established their unbreakable bond with ARMYs, reminding his fellow group mates that he believes nearly 90% of the fans would continue rooting for them irrespective of their future choices.

Adding on to this Jimin expressed that the fans have always been at the heart of BTS throughout. He called their ‘break-period’ as a ‘rough patch’ for all the members to re-discover themselves and come back together as their better versions.

While talking about this tightly packed daily schedule, Suga even hinted at their ‘mandatory military enlistment’ as he said, “I will not be able to do group schedules, or go through such a busy schedule in a year or two. None of the members will. When that happens, I want to be able to do concerts and do music.”

BTS then proceeded to talk about J-Hope beginning with his solo activities, details for which will be revealed in July. Suga also mentioned advising the younger artists to ‘go ahead and release their work, irrespective of the criticism or praise they might get’.

They shared a moment to praise the group’s youngest, for his wise choice of words while summing up what they had been talking about.

BTS apologised the ARMYs and hoped they were able to convey their sincerity, which was followed by them assuring the ARMYs of making group appearances by resuming BTS’s variety show ‘Run BTS’, for which the official announcement will be made soon.

Towards the conclusion, the members talked of getting matching friendship tattoos, expressing their sincerity towards their fans as they shed tears sharing their emotions and made the ending comment which was, hoping to be back together as a group on stage without having to worry of worldly regulations.

They cheered, “Apo BangPo”, meaning ‘Army Forever, BTS Forever’.

Soon after this V poured his out in a post, he made on their fan community platform.
