Grammy Award-winning hip hop artist Coolio has died at the age of 59, TMZ reports. The rapper, whose full name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., reportedly died while visiting a friend at his residence in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Sept. 28. Coolio’s manager, Jarez, reportedly told the publication that Coolio had excused himself to go to the bathroom and when he didn’t return, his friend went to investigate. He opened up the door and reportedly found him lying on the floor.
Jarez said that paramedics were called and pronounced Coolio dead at the scene. An official cause of death has not been revealed, but he is assumed to have suffered from cardiac arrest, per TMZ. He leaves behind several children.
