The Delhi High Court on Wednesday stayed the recruitment process of teachers for two posts in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). In fact, a petition was filed in the court that this post was not for the reservation category.

It also stayed the recruitment process of teachers for two posts in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, alleging that the reservation was not for faculty.

Let us inform that JNU had issued an advertisement inviting applications for 97 posts of Assistant Professors including 10 reserved under EWS quota. Which was challenged in the court by four candidates. While hearing the petition, Justice Suresh Kumar Kait stayed the recruitment process.

In the petition, there was a demand to issue fresh advertisements for the posts of assistant professors to the professors. In which there was no reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). It sought to quash the 279th Executive Council meeting held on April 3, whereby it had disqualified the four petitioners and non-EWS category persons from applying to teaching posts.
