Playing Axie Infinity Origin is fun, but in this guide, you can learn how to breed new Axies. Simply expand your Axie family, or breed special edition Axies during limited-time breeding events. This guide will tell you how to breed those Axies!
Axie Infinity is one of the most famous blockchain games in the world. Not only was it a significant player in the 2021 adoption of play-and-earn games, but it’s also home to one of the strongest gaming communities in the web3 space. Anyone can get real-world rewards by battling cute NFT characters, the Axies. But how is it that you increase your in-game NFT characters? How to breed Axies and step-up your game? It may not be as simple as it seems. Read on to find out all about it!
How to Breed Your Axies?
Let’s take a look at the step-by-step process of breeding Axies and getting brand new offspring.
Step 1: Get Started With Axie Infinity
First things first, you need to get started with the game. In short, you’ll need to create a Ronin network wallet and transfer some tokens to this new address. This is so that you have enough funds to buy your first Axies.
Once you’re done, connect your wallet to your account and buy your Axies on the Axie Infinity Marketplace.
It’s important to point out that from the moment you choose your Axies, there are a whole number of factors that you need to consider.
Each character is an NFT and comes with unique features and skills that can change your in-game experience. So choose well!
You’ll also want to pay close attention to the Breed Count, the number of times the Axie has bred. Each of them can only breed seven times, and each time it gets more expensive.
When you’ve selected your first three Axies, you can download the game and get started. Link your in-game wallet to your email account, log in and use your Axies to play.
Keep in mind, players can also play the game without NFTs, but breeding only works when you have NFT Axies.
Step 2: Battle and Strengthen your Axies
Before you can breed and sell your Axies on the marketplace, you’ll want to do what the game is really about: play and have fun.
Also, the more you play, the better you’ll understand game dynamics and what makes an Axie powerful.
For instance, if you should focus on creating an Axie to be strong in the battle for Attack, Defense, or Support, your strategy is different.
Understanding which type of Axie you want to get is essential to make sure you don’t waste your Axies breeding chance. So think ahead and don’t just breed for fun. It is also a strategy game, after all.
Step 3: Get Yourself SLP and AXS Tokens
In order to breed Axie NFTs, you need to spend SLP tokens, also known as Smooth Love Potion. This in-game ERC-20 token can be traded on several exchanges, but you can also earn it by winning battles with your characters.
The more your Axies have bred, the more SLP the next breed will cost.
Besides SLP, each breeding also costs you some AXS (Axie Infinity Shards), the in-game governance token.
You can track the current value of SLP and AXS tokens using the DappRadar Token Explorer and also use our Token Swap to make fast and safe transactions.
However, keep in mind that breeding requires AXS and SLP on the Ronin Network in a Ronin Wallet. We don’t support this wallet at this time.
If you want to be sure how much it will cost to breed Axies, you can simulate breeding by checking your inventory on the marketplace.
Step 4: Selecting Axies To Breed
Before you head out to your Inventory and breed away, you must first research your Axies’ strengths and weaknesses.
Axies have genes, body types and are divided into nine classes. Each Axie is unique and has its perks, so you should get to know them before selecting your NFTs to breed.
Step 5: How to Breed Axies?
Now you have a strong sense of what the game is about and have your breeding goals set out, and it’s WooHoo time! Or breeding time for your chosen Axies.
All you need to do is:
- Visit Axie Marketplace
- Make sure your Ronin Wallet is connected
- Click on Dashboard
- Go to your Inventory
- Select an Axie, and then click Breed
- Now find your Axie a mate, and select it
- Pay the breeding fees
- And then Confirm
As you can see, there’s much more to playing Axie Infinity and breeding Axies than meets the eye.
What Can I Do With My New Axies Offspring?
After breeding your Axies, you will find a small egg in your inventory. This egg will take five days to mature, and then you can morph it into an adult Axie. Only then will you find out your new Axie’s class and genes.
Depending on your game strategy, you can do many things with your new NFT. This is one of the best parts of blockchain games; you own your in-game assets.
This means you have the freedom to breed Axies to sell them, a practice that may or may not be profitable. You could also continue to participate in in-game battles, using your new Axie.
Either way, the choice is yours, and your Axies NFTs will remain there in your wallet for when you decide.
What Should I Pay Attention to When Breeding Axies?
Even if you already have an idea of how to breed Axies, it’s worth summarizing the process. Here’re a few tips for sticking to when breeding your Axie NFTs:
- Have a clear understanding of what your new Axie is for;
- Choose your Axie parents well, not only if they’re good but also if they match;
- Remember that rarity is more important than aesthetics;
- It is not possible to breed Axies with their siblings or parents;
- Do your own research about the best ways to play and breed Axies.
As you can see on the DappRadar Top Blockchain Games Ranking, Axie Infinity is a constant presence.
It is one of the most played decentralized games ever, and even with its native tokens at much lower values than their peak, it has managed to maintain an active community.
