The family first got their big break on 19 Kids and Counting but have since had multiple issues when the police were called to the premises. Over the years, some of the Duggar children have found themselves in trouble, with the most notorious being Jim Bob and Michelle’s eldest son, Josh Duggar. The 35-year-old was arrested in April 2021 and charged with one count of possessing and one count of receiving child pornography in April 2021. Josh was found guilty and is now serving a 12-year sentence in

Federal Correctional Facility (FCI) in Seagoville, Texas.

Most recently, Jana Duggar, the couple’s oldest daughter, was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor after a babysitting incident that happened back in 2021. Later a court official from the district court in Elm Springs, Arkansas, revealed that the charges against Jana were settled out of court as the former reality TV star has pled not guilty to the charges. After a full investigation, the court official determined that the incident was an accident, and the child was not hurt or in any real danger.

With the release of Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, Jim Bob, and Michelle have again been under the magnifying glass. The couple took to their family webpage to blast Amazon for the making of the documentary, but most of the damage had already been done. For years, viewers questioned the Duggar’s affiliation with the IBLP, and now they are having to answer to the law. Jim Bob and Michelle are trying to lie low and live their life as normal, which still includes going to church, dressing modestly, and preaching the word of God.
