Sources are dishing on the behind-the-scenes drama on The Real Housewives of New York City that led to Lizzy Savetsky’s early exit from the reboot.

Sources are revealing alleged details about Lizzy Savetsky’s early exit from The Real Housewives of New York City season 14. Production on the reboot has been underway amid reports that one housewife is already out. The show is returning after a two-year hiatus and has an all-new cast. Lizzy was gone before the show even started, following reports of a dispute involving race and ethnicity. She addressed her exit and said it was due to the antisemitism she was experiencing as a Jewish woman.

New reports from Page Six now claim Lizzy and her husband, Dr. Ira Savetsky, decided to leave after he repeated the N-word to show producers. The drama ignited following a sit-down between Lizzy and Brynn Whitfield when Brynn asked Lizzy to set her up with a Jewish man. Lizzy is known for being a matchmaker, and reportedly told Brynn that she preferred to set Jews up with other Jews despite not having any issues with Jews dating Gentiles. Lizzy is an Orthodox Jew, and prefers Jews to date other Jews to preserve their ethnic lineage. She is said to have explained how being Jewish is not just a belief system, but also a people.

According to Page Six, Brynn was offended and told Lizzy that her words sounded similar to the “horrific people [meaning Nazis] who did evil things to your people.” Brynn’s response offended Lizzy, and the RHONY housewives engaged in a heated phone conversation, where the use of racial slurs were discussed. During the alleged talk, Brynn, who is half Black, mentioned the N-word in full. Lizzy reportedly got the impression that Brynn would tell other cast members that she was the one who used the racial slur during the call. Following the call, Ira was outraged and complained to the show’s producers.

But instead of saying the N-word, Ira allegedly said the whole word in full more than once. Ira later apologized, but sources say the damage was already done and talks began about the Savetskys exiting the show. Sources also agree with Lizzy’s initial claims that she was the victim of antisemitic attacks on social media. Earlier this month, Lizzy announced her RHONY exit and credited the decision to be “on the receiving end of a torrent of [anti-Semitic] attacks.” The short-lived housewife felt like leaving the show was the best decision she could make for herself and her family. The claims eerily shadow the race-centered drama that led to the show being put on pause after RHONY season 13.

It was Ramona Singer’s alleged racist remarks toward Eboni K. Williams that led to an investigation being launched and the RHONY season 13 reunion being canceled. Now as producers work on The Real Housewives of New York City reboot, the season 14 cast is already being plagued with racist drama. The reports could mount speculation into the reboot, and if the franchise will return to the lighthearted shade it was once known for. RHONY fans might resort to only watching the Legacy spin-off if the season 14 cast isn’t able to produce the type of drama Real Housewives fans prefer.
