New set photos from Wicked show Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo getting ready to film together. An adaptation of the popular musical of the same name — which is itself based on Gregory Maguire’s Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West —Wicked follows the story of the future Wicked Witch, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) as she slowly transforms into the character that Dorothy meets in The Wizard of Oz. With Glinda the Good With (Ariana Grande) at her side, Elphaba copes with day-to-day life as she begins her descent into evil.
While Erivo and Grande have been spotted on-set before, these new shots capture the two side-by-side as they prepare for their next scene. Check out the photos below:
Erivo and Grande are fully in character with Erivo’s skin dyed green, while Grande is dressed all in pink with her hair dyed bright gold. They look as if they stepped off of the Wicked stage and appear to be getting ready to perform the song “Popular”.
