The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise continues on with the upcoming Knuckles TV show. After being teased at the end of the first movie, Knuckles made his big screen debut in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with Idris Elba voicing the fan-favorite character. The red echidna creature began as an enemy to Sonic only to team up with him in the end, setting that stage for Knuckles’ story to continue on within the Sonic franchise and that includes on the small screen with the Knuckles TV show ahead of the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
While the Sonic franchise has spawned several popular supporting characters, including Tails, Shadow, and Amy Rose, arguably the biggest star of the series next to Sonic himself has been Knuckles. It took a bit for Knuckles to make his Sonic debut though, as the echidna didn’t arrive on the scene until 1994’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 video game, although he quickly rose to co-protagonist status in follow-up Sonic & Knuckles. Knuckles has gone on to appear in dozens of games. It’s not surprising that Knuckles quickly joined Sonic’s big screen adventures and now there is hope that he can headline his own story in the Knuckles TV show.
