While the Sonic franchise has spawned several popular supporting characters, including Tails, Shadow, and Amy Rose, arguably the biggest star of the series next to Sonic himself has been Knuckles. It took a bit for Knuckles to make his Sonic debut though, as the echidna didn’t arrive on the scene until 1994’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 video game, although he quickly rose to co-protagonist status in follow-up Sonic & Knuckles. Knuckles has gone on to appear in dozens of games.
