The latest And Just Like That season 2 updates is the announcement of a celebrity cameo. It’s been reported (via Digitalspy) that singer Sam Smith will be making an appearance in the second season. The appearance was teased by Smith on their Instagram, and already And Just Like That and Sam Smith fans alike are eager to learn more about their possible role in season 2.

Another exciting announcement also came from actor portraying Miranda’s partner Che, Sara Ramirez, in October 2022 — that Tony Danza would star in a recurring role in the upcoming And Just Like That season 2 as Che’s father. Filming for And Just Like That season 2 began in November 2022, and various shots of Sarah Jessica Parker donned in the iconic Carrie Bradshaw style have been entering circulation since.

The renewal of And Just Like That for a second season was confirmed in March 2022 by HBO Max. Sarah Jessica Parker then shared a picture of the first episode’s script via her Instagram in September, showing that the writing process had been completed. New cast member Sara Ramirez (Che) also posted a picture to their Instagram during a cast table read on September 21st, 2022.

According to Variety, HBO Max’s chief content officer revealed that And Just Like That is the streaming service’s most popular original show to date, so it’s no surprise that the service officially renewed it for season 2 on March 21st, 2022. Sarah Jessica Parker explained that right after And Just Like That season 1 wrapped, she was excited to discuss moving forward with season 2, confirming in effect what HBO Max would later make official with the And Just Like That season 2 renewal announcement.

It starts out with Carrie narrating and saying that no matter what happens, one can always expect their closest friends to be there.

A scene in which Charlotte’s daughter Lily boldly proclaims that she’s ready to lose her virginity occurs, followed by the revelation that there’s a MILF list at one of her children’s schools. Miranda mentions something is a huge step up for her and Che, while Carrie admits she’s been having a lot of flings. Then, Aidan Shaw returns at the last moment.

Samantha Will Not Return For And Just Like That Season 2

One thing that will almost certainly stay the same for And Just Like That season 2 is Kim Cattrall’s absence as Samantha Jones. Sarah Jessica Parker was asked about the possibility of an And Just Like That season 2 Cattrall return, but said that given the “public history” of Cattrall’s generally negative feelings towards Sex and the City, she can’t really imagine it going well.

Even though Samantha brought a much-needed dynamism and open-mindedness to the original Sex and the City series and could probably add similar spice to And Just Like That, it seems that personal tensions are too strong among the cast. And Just Like That has been able to work Samantha into the story anyway through offscreen interactions, so it’s possible that the series will continue to do so in season 2.
