The Vampire Academy books follow vampire/human hybrid Rose Hathaway (Stringer) and her best friend and Moroi princess Lissa Dragomir (Nieves) as they train at St. Vladimir’s Academy and become entangled in forbidden romance and dangerous adventures. The Vampire Academy series isn’t the first adaptation of the books, following the release of a poorly received Vampire Academy film adaptation in 2014. The new show will also follow the events of the first Vampire Academy novel for season 1, but will hopefully fare better than the first adaptation starring Zoey Deutch and Lucy Fry.
