Omni-present media goliath, Warner Bros, has announced the imminent arrival of its NFT-powered Movieverse. As a result, bringing cinematic masterpiece, ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ to the cutting-edge realm of Web3.

Back in the olden days, when DVDs were still a thing, home movies would contain a wealth of glorious bonus content, sharing with fans a wide array of exclusive images, out-takes, deleted content and more. All this ended however, when streaming services moved in to steal their thunder and rendered bonus material unwieldy and difficult to manage. Following which, this extra material fell by the wayside, much to the detriment of humankind, until now.

Through its new Movieverse marketplace, Warner Bros. will look to rekindle this far-too-brief heyday of cinematic wonder. Therefore, using the technological marvel of NFT-gated content to once again engulf the senses. It will offer bespoke interactive menus leading to a wholly immersive cinematic experience.

To kick things off, Warner Bros. will launch two tiers of ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ NFTs at 9am PT on October 21, each granting access to a 4k, extended edition copy of the movie, as well as over 8 hours of bonus content. The total distribution will include 999 ‘Epic’ NFTs for $100 apiece, and 10k ‘Mystery’ editions at $30. Once in possession, fans can then freely trade their collectibles on the accompanying marketplace.
