With a post on the official site of the game, Crystal Dynamics announced that support for Marvel’s Avengers will end on September 30th with the release of the update 2.8. The game will remain fully accessible in both single-player and multiplayer modes.

The developers have emphasized that the update 2.7 which introduced the Winter Soldier and the Omega level threat of the cloning lab was the last to add content. The next update, in fact, will be limited to fix the balance and change the game economy.

In fact, from 30 September credits will no longer be purchasable and those in players’ wallets will be converted into game assets. Above is the table with the resources players will receive based on how many credits are left in their account.

The developer also anticipated that, as a thank you to the community for the support shown in these two and a half years, all cosmetics from Marketplace, Challenge Card and Shipping will be returned for free. All you need is a copy of the game to access all the contents listed above.

The title, therefore, will not close its doors, but rather will give the possibility, even to those who decide to approach it for the first time following the interruption of support, to experience all the contents released. Sure, it’s a disappointment just two and a half years after its launch, but it deserves credit for leaving the game enjoyable in all its parts.
